Advanced Screening of Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey
(Manila, March 7, 2014) I was lucky to have been invited to watch the advanced screening of the first episode of “Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey” at The Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City, Philippines. This 13-episode series is sequel to Carl Sagan’s original version, “Cosmos: A Personal Voyage.”
Talk about #ThrowbackFriday. I remember watching astrologer and cosmologist Carl Sagan’s series on TV in the 80’s when cable TV was still a thing of the future.
The new series was created by Seth MacFarlane, the same guy who created Family Guy, and is hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. With the full fanfare of today’s special effects, the first episode provided a visual story of the creation of our universe and of earth.
Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey will premier with a simulcast on National Geographic Channel (NGC) and Fox Channel on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:00 PM. Representatives of Fox International Channels in the Philippines say that the new series will stay true to Sagan’s vision while revealing new insights.
The buffet was catered by Bizu Patisserie with ice tea and champagne while introductions were made by representatives of NGC, Fox and The Mind Museum. The advanced screening was shown at the museum’s auditorium and artisan chocolate by Villa del Conte were given to all the attendees.
